With the aim to deal with large number of potential visitors, the Dubai immigration authorities are adopting technology-driven measures. This was informed by the General Director of the immigration department’s e-services sector, Khalid Nasser Al Razooqi during a media interaction in Dubai. He said that a pilot project to establish smart electronic gates at the airport is being undertaken on a large scale, which will enable a passenger to clear immigration in 14 seconds.A senior officer at the immigration department Mohammad Ahmad Al Hammadi, expressed the hope that visitors from India will continue to provide a large chunk of the overseas visitors.
