The much awaited Dubai Duty Free WTA championship for women gets underway in Dubai on Monday. Four former world number one tennis players would be in the race for the title. These include, Jelena Jankovich , Caroline Wozniacki, Ana Ivnovic and Venus Williams. In all m14 out of the 20 top women's seeds will be in action at the inaugural tennis championship in Dubai this year. The field also includes defending champion Petra Kvitova along with 2012 winner Agnieszka Radwanska, former US Open champion Samantha Stosur, Germany's number one Angelique Kerber and 2013 Dubai runner- Sara Errani. Tournament Director Salah Tahlak said all four former world number ones will be competing against one of the strongest fields ever to be assembled in Dubai to become the 2014 champion. He added that with so many amazing players superb matches are on the cards from Day 1. Play in the WTA event begins on 17th February and continues until 22nd February. It will be followed by the Men's ATP tournament from 24th February to 1st March and features defending champion Novak Djokovic and the five-time champion Roger Federer, Tomas Berdych and world number four Juan Martin Del Potro among others.
