Future of more than two lakh applicants for graduation programme of Delhi University is now stranded as it has put its admissions process on hold. Admissions were meant to start today but because of the row over the controversial four-year undergraduate programme of the University, admission has been put on hold.
After an emergency meeting of the Principals Association of the Delhi University last evening, its president S K Garg announced that they decided to defer the admission process.
The Association in a resolution passed had said that 36 colleges have decided not to release cut-off list untill the issue is resolved and the remaining college heads has been informed about the decision. The decision were taken in the interest of the students, parents and colleges.
Yesterday, the University Grants Commission had asked Delhi University and all its 64 colleges to comply with its order or face consequence such as freezing of grants.
