Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) is going to undertake a major route rationalisation programme to optimise passenger volumes and ticket collection. Taking to reporters in New Delhi, Delhi Transport Minister Ramakant Goswami said the government will also re-introduce 'ladies special' bus services on 17 routes from next week in the national capital. These buses will cover various commercial centres of Delhi including Nehru Place, Janakpuri and Rohini. He said the move will provide safe and comfortable travel to women passengers. Mr. Goswami said the Delhi government is also considering a proposal to provide bus passes to Delhi Police staff.
