The Delhi Transport Corporation has earned an additional revenue of 60 crore rupees during the course of the Commonwealth Games by providing its buses to Organising Committee and several Government agencies. Delhi Transport Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said the amount also includes additional revenue earned by the DTC due to withdrawal of its buses from certain areas in the city. Complimenting the employees for their dedicated service during the Games, Lovely also announced 10 per cent increase in dearness allowance for them with effect from the current month. The Minister announced a Diwali bonus of 3,500 rupees to each of the 30,000 employees of the corporation. The financial implication on the government due to enhanced dearness allowance and bonus will be around 10.25 crore rupees.
