DTAA with India working very well : Mauritian PM

Mauritius Prime Minister Anerood Jugnauth today said that the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement – DTAA with India is working very well and there are no signs of any unfair practice nor misuse. Speaking to reporters after attending an interactive meeting organised by All India Association of Industries in Mumbai today, Mr. Jugnauth said that treaty in fact brings in more investments to India and its working totally transparently.<br/><br/>When asked about the impact of the new black money law and the new DTAA law that the government is planning to ratify with Mauritius, Mr. Jugnauth said there is no money laundering taking place through its jurisdiction adding that Mauritius has always provided all information sought by India.<br/><br/>Addressing industry leaders earlier in the day, Mr. Jugnauth thanked India to developing various sectors such as Information Technology, Pharma, Health, Medicare, and infrastructure in Mauritius. He further said that India and Mauritius have a lot to explore in the tourism and hospitality space and welcomed investments in the hospitality sector.
