Farmers in drought affected Bihar heaved a shy of relief as most parts of the state received widespread rainfall. 75 to 100 mm of rain has been recorded during last 24 hours. With these, the rainfall deficiency in the state is now 26 percent as against 35 percent reported last week. Met office says, a trough line passing through Bihar has activated the monsoon over the entire state. AIR correspondent reports that the weathermen have predicted heavy rainfall for the whole state in coming days. This rainfall is a boon to farmers of the state. The moisture content of the agricultural field has increased considerably and this has provided a fresh lease of life to drying crops. Besides Paddy, Pulses, oilseed crops have better prospect following welcome shower in major parts of the state. Agricultural scientists have opined that paddy seedlings which are not more than 60 days old can be re-transplanted.
