Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation will launch a nation wide campaign Swacchata Hi Sewa from 15th of this month. It is a mass mobilization drive to accelerate Open Defecation Free, ODF progress in villages through construction of twin-pit toilets in conjunction with the behaviour change activities. <br/><br/>The campaign will continue till Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October where shramdaan activities will be held by eminent personalities, community organizations and private sector organizations. President Ram Nath Kovind is scheduled to launch the campaign. <br/><br/>Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the last edition of Mann Ki Baat on All India Radio on 27th of last month had called upon the nation to undertake the campaign to intensify the focus on cleanliness and create an environment of cleanliness across the country in the spirit of a mass movement.
