In Chennai, officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence arrested noted smuggler Mohammed Ibrahim at Chennai Airport this morning. The 44 year old Ibrahim was arrested when he had boarded the flight from Chennai to Mumbai. Officials said he planned to escape to Middle East Countries from Mumbai. Ibrahim was wanted in several cases including smuggling of red sanders and rosewood. He was produced before the Director General of Southern Region of the DRI, C.Rajan and was remanded to 15 days police custody. Sorces said police are on the lookout for his associates who are wanted in connection with smuggling.
