Dravid, Yuvraj, Sreesanth dropped from Indian sqaud for 1st test against S Africa

Karnataka fast bowler Abhimanyu Mithun and Bengal wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha are the new faces included in India's 15-member squad for the first Test against South Africa beginning in Nagpur from February 6.Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary N Srinivasan announced the Indian team in Mumbai today after a meeting of the selection committee.Tamil Nadu batsman S Badrinath has also been named in the squad. Opener M Vijay and Sudeep Tyagi also retained their place in the squad. Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh and S Sreesanth have been omitted from the squad because of injuries while VVS Laxman who has recovered from an injury got a place in the squad.The Indian Cricket board said it would review the status of the injuries after the first Test against South Africa before selecting the team for the second in Kolkata.The Indian selectors also named a squad for the Board President's XI's two-day match against the South Africans in Nagpur scheduled on February 2 and 3. Rohit Sharma was named captain while Abhimanyu Mithun was also part of the squad in order to give him a look in ahead of the Test.The Squad for first Test includes: MS Dhoni (Captain), Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, S Badrinath, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Amit Mishra, Pragyan Ojha, Ishant Sharma, M Vijay, Sudeep Tyagi, Abhimanyu Mithun, Wriddhiman Saha.Board President's XI team includes: Abhinav Mukund, Parthiv Patel, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma (Captain), Manish Pandey, Cheteshwar Pujara, Abhishek Nayar, Piyush Chawla, R Ashwin, Vinay Kumar, Abhimanyu Mithun, Shikhar Dhawan, Umesh Yadav, Manpreet Gony.
