Textiles ministry will soon approach the Union Cabinet for the approval of the new national textiles policy. Speaking exclusively to AIR on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi today, Textiles Secretary Rashmi Verma said, the draft policy has already been prepared. <br/><br/>The policy aims to achieve 300 billion dollars textiles exports by 2024-25. It envisages creation of 35 million additional jobs. She said, there is lot of potential for Indian handicrafts and the need is to market the products more aggressively at the national and international level. <br/><br/>Mrs Verma said, Ministry is developing clusters to provide marketing platform to artisans. She said, the Ministry is in the process of having a e-marketing portal for handloom and handicraft products. She said, through the portal artisans will get an opportunity to showcase and sell their products.
