The government has prepared a draft National Pharmaceuticals Pricing Policy to evolve a mechanism to control the prices of essential medicines. Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said this in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today. He said, his Ministry has prepared the National List of Essential Medicines (NLEM) consisting of 348 medicines. He said, his Ministry has requested the Department of Pharmaceuticals to bring all drugs under the price control. He said that draft policy has been referred to the Group of Ministers.
