Draft electoral roll released in Puducherry, Electorate stand at 9.96 lakh

In Puducherry, Chief Election Officer, B. Jawahar, released a draft electoral roll for the union territory, following a summary revision.<br />''<br />''AIR correspondent reports, According to the release, the total electorate in the union territory stood at 9,96,295, with 4,68,464 men and 5,27,694  women, besides 137 third-gender voters.<br />''<br />''While 5,686 voters were included, 19,846 voters were d from the lists. Villianur constituency in Puducherry emerged as the largest constituency, with 43,522 electors, and Orleanpet, with 24,234 was the smallest.<br />''<br />''Meanwhile, after justification, five additional polling stations appeared in Uzhukarai, Kadirkamam, Indira Nagar, Tattanchavadi and Karaikal. To prevent voter duplication, 73% of voters (7.25 lakh) linked their Aadhar cards to voter ID.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Collectors of Puducherry and Karaikal districts and Regional Administrative Officers in Mahe and Yanam districts also released the lists. The final electoral roll would be published on 5th January 2023. </span><br />
