A PTC workshop on the Karnataka Assembly election 2023 was inaugurated in Bengaluru today by Smt Vasudha Gupta, Director General(News), News Services Division, All India Radio. Addressing the Part Time Correspondents of All India Radio, the Director General (News) said that All India Radio and Doordarshan have a reputation for giving pure news without any views or opinions and hence are regarded as authentic. She called upon the district correspondents to work towards keeping this reputation of the public broadcasters intact. She also gave suggestions on filing structured stories using colloquial language that is easy to understand by the common man. She said that since the listeners do not have a recall factor in Radio, the news must be fed in such a way that each part of the news is easily understood by the listeners. She said interesting facts such as remote polling booths, and inclusive election-related efforts should be brought to the listeners. During the inaugural of the Workshop, the Additional Director General of Press Information Bureau S G Ravindra, Akashwani Bengaluru station head Neha Swami, Joint Directors(News) T B Nanjundaswamy and H L Guruprasad, Deputy Director(News) Priyanka Charan and others were present on this occasion.
