Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Dr Karan Singh will today present 20th Rajiv Gandhi National Sadbhavana Award to the founder and Chief Patron of the organization that popularized the Jaipur Foot Mr D R Mehta at a special ceremony in New Delhi. The award is being given to Mr Mehta for his outstanding contribution towards the promotion of communal harmony, peace and goodwill. The award, which carries a citation and cash prize of five lakh rupees, is being given to Mehta on the eve of birthday of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

AIR correspondent reports former recipients of the Award include Mother Teresa, Ustad Bismillah Khan, Mohd. Yunus, Hiteswar Saikia and Mrs Subhadra Joshi jointly, Ms Lata Mangeshkar, Sunil Dutt, J N Kaul, Dilip Kumar, Swami Agnivesh and Madari Moideen jointly and K R Narayanan.
