The much-hyped meeting between Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Yousaf Raza Geelani will take place at Thimpu on Thursday evening. Official sources however refused to disclose the nature and substance of summit-level talks. AIR correspondent reports that New Delhi will certainly express its concern over the slow pace of Mumbai attack trial in Pakistan and will press for credible action by Islamabad. India is also unhappy that Mumbai attack mastermind and JuD chief Hafiz Saeed is roaming freely in Pakistan and whipping up anti-India sentiments. The meeting to be held on the sidelines of the SAARC Summit in Bhutan is happening after the two leaders met in July last year at Sharm-el-Shaikh in Egypt. Pakistan hopes that the meeting between Dr. Singh and Mr Gilani will lead to resumption of wide-ranging talks or the composite dialogue. But, New Delhi has been maintaining that the Composite Dialogue process with Islamabad can be resumed only if credible steps are taken against the perpetrators of the Mumbai attacks and dismantling of terror infrastructure directed against India. India has made it clear that dialogue is the only way forward but for resumption of talks, Islamabad has to create a conducive atmosphere.
Earlier, Foreign Minister S.M.Krishna said, he had received the replies to dossiers by Islamabad just before enplaning for Bhutan and is yet to go through them. He said, after detailed study, New Delhi will formulate a response.
