BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi has been reappointed as Chairman of Public Accounts Committee by Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar. A Spokesman of the Lok Sabha Secretariat confirmed this today. The appointment comes a day after Dr Joshi submitted the controversial report to Lok Sabha Speaker on the 2G issue. The draft report was rejected by the majority of members in the 21 member Committee on Thursday during a chaotic meeting. Joshi claimed that he had adjourned the meeting. But Congress members alleged that he had walked out and after that they elected Rajya Sabha member Saifuddin Soz to chair the meeting which rejected the report. 11 members belonging to Congress, DMK and one each from SP and BSP voted against adoption of the report.
