Dr. Jitendra Singh stressed on immediate need to avail post-COVID opportunities in tourism sector particularly in North Eastern Region

<span style="color: #222222;">Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh has stressed on the immediate need to avail the post-COVID opportunities in the tourism sector in India, particularly the North Eastern Region. He said the North East region can become an alternative to some European destinations in the aftermath of high Corona prevalence there.  <br />''<br />''At a meeting with representatives of various Tourist and Transport bodies, the Minister said opportunity is knocking at the door. He added that if a boost in tourist inflow can be ensured this season, it will set a trend for the following years.<br />''<br />''Dr Singh pointed out that the North Eastern Region could not adequately avail of the opportunities despite some of the choicest destinations in Meghalaya, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh, because of low prioritization from successive governments. He said there has been revolutionary and fast track improvement under the NDA government in connectivity and transport, which should facilitate ease of tourism. </span><br />
