Union Minister for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Dr. Harsh Vardhan has stressed upon the need to pool the knowledge available in medical field and strengthen the traditional system of medicine in the country. He was speaking at the seventh convocation ceremony of Dr. D. Y. Patil University in Pune Friday evening. Highlighting the glorious tradition in the fields of science, commerce, medical and engineering in India, he said that the government is committed to support new ideas. Senior scientist Dr. C. N. R. Rao was awarded honorary doctorate of the university on the occasion. Former governor of Bihar Dr. D. Y. Patil and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
