Union Minister for Science and Technology and Ministry of Earth Sciences, Dr. Harsh Vardhan has praised the work being done by the India Meteorological Department. <br/><br/>He was speaking with officials of IMD Pune today after reviewing the works and projects of the Department. He said that Make in India initiative is already being implemented in IMD and it is certainly praiseworthy that many types of equipment are being manufactured within the IMD and now have demand from other countries. <br/><br/>Dr. Harsh Vardhan expressed hope that IMD will include novel and creative concepts in their work. Head of IMD Pune, Bishwajit Mukhopadhyay and staff members were present on the occasion. Later talking to newsmen Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that the predictions about the climate are being provided to state governments, farmers and people at large to forewarn them about developments like severe heat wave.
