Dr Ambedkar's 125th birth anniversary: Govt to launch Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan tomorrow

Nation will pay tributes to Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar tomorrow on his 125th birth anniversary. Main function will be held in the lawns of Parliament house where political leaders and peoples from different walks of life will pay floral tributes at the statue of Dr Ambedkar. <br/><br/>Government is launching Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan tomorrow on Dr Ambedkar's birth anniversary to strengthen Panchayati Raj in villages and ensure social harmony. <br/><br/>The eleven day campaign will also focus on generating nation wide efforts on promoting rural development and fostering farmers' progress. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick start the campaign at Ambedkar's ancestral village Mhow in Madhya Pradesh. <br/>The campaign will be run jointly by the Ministries of Rural Development, Agriculture, Social Justice, Labour and Information and Broadcasting along with the States. <br/><br/>During the campaign, discussions on issues pertaining to rural development, improving farmers' income, SC and ST welfare and social harmony will be held on different platforms. Village farmer assemblies will be organised to promote agriculture by providing information to farmers about various schemes of the government such as Fasal Bima Yojana and Soil Health Card scheme. <br/><br/>On 19th of April, a national meeting focusing on Panchayat and tribal development will be held at Vijaywada. Gram sabha meetings will take place from 21st to 24th of April across the country. Prabhat Pheris will be held in villages and sanitation cultural and sports programme will also be held. Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan will conclude on Panchayati Raj Diwas on 24th with address of Prime Minister to all gram sabhas from Jamshedpur through Radio and Tv.<br/><br/>On the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti tomorrow, functions are also being organized all over the country to remember his contribution to nation building specially in drafting the Constitution.<br/><br/>Portraits of Babasaheb will be garlanded at village Panchayats and literature about his life and work will be distributed. Discussions about his teaching and work will also be held. The day is also being observed as Social harmony Day.<br/><br/>Congratulating the people on the occasion, Social Justice and Empowerment Thaawarchand Gehlot said that Babasaheb laid the foundation of social reforms in the country in true sense. The Minister said, people should resolve to strengthen social harmony in the country which will be a true tribute to him.
