Delhi Police has started trials on the exclusive lanes aiming to give road users sufficient exposure of the traffic movement during and before the Commonwealth Games. The three-day trials are being carried out on the lanes between Lodhi Road Madrasa and Lodhi Road flyover, August Kranti Marg, Yamuna Sports Complex and ring road and other routes. Delhi Traffic Police have made exclusive lanes on the roads for smooth movement of Games-related traffic during the 12-day-long international sports event. The exclusive lanes will come into effect from 20th of this month. The people are advised to avoid the exclusive Games lanes during the trials and familiarise themselves regarding the pattern of traffic movement during the Games. AIR correspondent reports that violation of exclusive lane will amount to a fine of 2,000 rupees and impounding of the offending vehicle. A notification to this effect has already been issued by Delhi Lieutenant Governor's office.
