Dow Jones industrial average gains seven points at 12,891

US stocks edged higer yesterday, after Greece reached a deal to secure a financial bailout, but investors took a wait-and-see attitude in a market that has become extended after weeks of gains. So the Dow Jones industrial average gained 7 points, or 0.1 percent, at 12,891. The Standard and Poor's 500 index rose 2 points, or 0.2 percent, at 1,352. And the Nasdaq composite index moved up 11 points, or 0.4 percent, at 2,927. In economic news, a report showed jobless claims unexpectedly fell last week, underscoring a firming in the labour market.
