Department of Telecommunications, DoT is organizing a National Conference in New Delhi on Monday to brainstorm and showcase various utilization models leveraging BharatNet infrastructure. <br/><br/>Ministry of Communications in a release said, during the conference, DoT will sign Memorandum of Understanding with states for the implementation of second phase of BharatNet. <br/><br/>Broadband infrastructure on Optical Fibre network has been made available at over one lakh Gram Panchayats across the country as part of BharatNet Phase-1 and by December this year, all one lakh Panchayats will be operational on the BharatNet infrastructure. <br/><br/>It said, almost 90 thousand installations have been completed and broadband services are expected to commence in 80 thousand gram panchayats soon. <br/><br/>Information and Technology Ministers and Secretaries from States and service providers will participate in the conference.
