Dornier aircraft search: Human remains recovered, debris found

The search operation for the Coast Guard's Dornier aircraft that went missing on the 8th of last month has been concluded, with the retrieval of parts of human skeletons from where its flight data recorder and other parts were fished out from the seabed near Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu. <br/><br/>The body remains are considered to be those of the pilots of the ill-fated aircraft. Inspector General of the Eastern Command of Coast Guard SP Sharma told press in Chennai, the Multi Support Vessel Olympic Canyon, equipped with remotely operated underwater robots found out the human remains, a wrist watch and debris of the aircraft from 950 meters under water at about 17 nautical miles south east of Cuddalore coast.<br/><br/>The search gathered steam after the naval submarine INS Sindhudhwaj picked up signals from the Sonar Locator Beacon of the missing aircraft during its pursuit for the elusive aircraft on 6th of this month. Based on its vital clues, the vessel Olympic Canyon was redeployed in the area for the underwater mission. <br/><br/>It has already retrieved the crucial parts of the Dornier-791 like Flight Data Recorder, Cockpit Voice Recorder, two engines and propellers. Mr SP Sharma said, analysis of the recorders and forensic analysis of other parts will reveal the exact cause of the incident.
