Home Minister P Chidambaram has appealed for calm with the Allahabad High Court set to pronounce its verdict on RamJanam Bhoomi Babri Masjid suites on Friday.Talking to newspersons today he said it will be inappropriate to reach any hasty conclusion that one side has won or the other side has lost. Appealing to all parties to the suit, public and media not to comment on the judgments as it is a complicated issue, he said it is possible that there will be one or more judgments delivered by the three-judge special bench.He said the Government earnestly hopes that all section of people will help in maintaining peace, order, harmony and tranquility. He said it is the duty of all organisations concerned to actively work to maintain peace. He said that these organisations must urge their members not to spread rumors and make provocative statements.He also urged the State Governments and District Administrations to immediately activate peace committees to maintain utmost vigil anddefuse any situation when there is first sign of trouble. Chidambaram said, State Governments have been advised to take adequate measures to maintain law and order specially in sensitive areas and Centre has also taken a number of measures to assist the States.
