International donors have pledged tens of billions of dollars to help Iraq rebuild after a four-year war against the Islamic State terror group left large swathes of the country in ruins. <br/><br/>After the conclusion of a three-day donor conference in its capital, the Kuwait government said, Iraq received 30 billion dollars in pledges to fund its reconstruction efforts. <br/><br/>Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Turkey were among several countries promising to offer loans and direct investments to help the country.<br/><br/>Iraq's Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari, however, said the funds fall short of what is needed. The Minister of Planning Qusai Abdelfattah had, earlier, said Iraq needs an estimated 88 billion Dollars to achieve its goals, 22 billion of which is needed immediately.
