US President Barack Obama's National Security Adviser James Jones, a close friend of India, has stepped down. His deputy Tom Donilon will take over as new National Security Adviser. President Barack Obama has announced this at the White House.Mr Jones is taking over the reign at a time when Washington is facing multiple crises abroad, including the Iranian nuclear showdown, Middle East peace talks which are on the verge of collapse and the search for progress in the war in Afghanistan.Commonly known as a workaholic Mr jones was also intimately involved in last year's Afghan strategy review.
