The Maharashtra Government has decided to make domicile certificate compulsory for admission to professional courses such as, architecture, MBA, pharmacy and engineering from this academic year. State Directorate of Technical Education has said it is mandatory to submit domicile, caste, income and if need be, creamy layer certificate while applying for the central admission process. According to official sources, the decision has been taken as the state government wanted to give priority to local students.
