The government has said that due to surplus stock of rice, the domestic price of rice will be under control as compared to an international market and neighbouring countries where the price is comparatively high. Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food, and  Public Distribution in a statement said that the percentage increase in the MSP of paddy last year was 5.15 percent. It said, however,  the actual increase in price of rice is around 3 percent, due to an increase in MSP and other input costs. The Ministry,  the domestic price of rice is in a comfortable position and the prices will remain well under control.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The Ministry said, with the amendment in export policy of Broken Rice from free" to Prohibited, the Government has ensured domestic food security while keeping a check on inflation as well as domestic price of rice. It said, export policy was amended to ensure adequate availability of broken rice for consumption by the domestic poultry industry and for other animal feedstock and successful implementation of Ethanol Blending Programme.</span><br />
