Domestic passenger car sales in the country increased by 7 per cent to over 1 lakh 71 thousand units in November 2011. It was 1-lakh 59 thousand units in the same month last year. Figures released today by the Society of IndianAutomobile Manufacturers (SIAM) show motorcycle sales in the country grew by 22.67 per cent to 8 lakh 69 thousand during the month from 7 lakh 8 thousand units in the corresponding month last year.Total two-wheeler sales grew by 25.27 per cent to 11 lakh 63 thousand units last month from 9 lakh28 thousand units in November,2010. Sales of commercial vehicles grew by 34.99 per cent where as total sales of vehicles across categories registered a jump of 22.22 per cent .
