Rising for the fourth straight week, domestic markets surged nearly 1.2 percent during the week primarily led by the strong gains in Banking, IT and Auto stocks.

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 711 points, 1.2 percent during the week, to close at 59,016 yesterday.

The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange rose 216 points, or 1.2 percent, to end at 17,585.

In the broader market, the BSE Mid-cap and Small indices added over 1 percent each.
