Dogra, CRPF adjudged best marching contingents for R-Day parade

The Dogra Regiment and the CRPF were on Saturday adjudged as the best marching contingents from in this year's Republic Day parade in New Delhi. Defence Minister A K Antony will give away the award to the winners tomorrow.<br/><br/>Among the five teams of school children that took part in the Parade, the 'Dolukunitha' dance of Karnataka performed by South Zone Cultural Centre, Thanjavur, was declared the best. The Ministry of Culture tableau, put up by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, bagged the coveted first prize among the 21 tableaux on display on the Rajpath during the parade.<br/><br/>The Goa state tableau, with the theme of International Film Festival of India, and Chhattisgarh tableau, depicting Kotumsar caves, won the second and third prizes in the category.
