The Junior Doctors of Kolkata Medical College and three other Medical colleges withdrew their strike this evening. Addressing a news conference at the Sahid minar Maidan representatives of the Junior Doctors said that since State Government has taken a sympathetic view of their demands, the cease-work is being suspended.The State Government had been in discussion with the Junior Doctors right from Tuesday morning. The day long discussions and the meeting with the Commissioner of Police Goutam Mohan Chakroborty about the security in hospitals this evening clinched the issue in favor of withdrawal of the strike. It was agreed that an officers of the rank of police station in-charge will look after the security of the Junior Doctors on duty at hospitals.
