<span style="color: #222222;">The Centre today said there are 13 lakh one thousand three hundred nineteen allopathic doctors registered with the State Medical Councils and the National Medical Commission (NMC) as on November last year. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, the Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar said the doctor-population ratio is 1 : 834 in the country.<br />''<br />''Dr Pawar said there are also two lakh 89 thousand registered dentists, 32 lakh 63 thousand registered nursing personnel and 13 lakh allied and Healthcare professionals in the country.<br />''<br />''&nbsp;The minister said the government has taken many steps to further increase the availability of doctors in the country.<br />''<br />''The number of UG seats have increased to 89 thousand 875 seats as of date. It was 51 thousand 348 seats before 2014. The number of PG seats have also increased by 93 percent from 31 thousand 185 seats before 2014 to 60 thousand 202 seats.</span><br />
