AITA secretary Bharat Oza has said that the National Selection Committee needs to decide on whether the Indian Davis Cup team wants veterans Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes back, or keep faith in the youngsters who did well against South Korea. India are to face Serbia in the Davis Cup tie which is slated to be held in India in September. India defeated Korea 3-1 earlier this month to make the Davis Cup play-off grade. Oza's reply was in reference to Paes' declaration that he is willing to be part of the squad as a player or captain or to help out the team if called upon by AITA. Earlier, Paes had announced that he was unavailable for national duty in 2014. Mahesh had told reporters during a promotional event in Mumbai that he was always available to play for the country, having earlier said he was set to retire after this year's Wimbledon Championships in June-July. Paes and Bhupathi won two French Open and one Wimbledon men's doubles titles as a pair between 1999 and 2001 before splitting up due to differences.
