The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Thursday asked people to donate to Prime Minister's national relief fund instead of sending him gifts on Diwali.

The Prime Minister's spokesman said in New Delhi that Dr. Singh has thanked all those who have sent him good wishes on the occasion.

Diwali will be celebrated across the nation on 26th of this month.
