Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC)has decided to operate the Airport Metro Express Line from Monday . This was announced by DMRC on its website on Sunday.
This follows the Reliance Infrastructure owned Delhi Airport Metro Express Private Limited expressing its inability to run the services from Sunday night.
AIR correspondent reports, the DMRC has deputed an operations and management team of 100 officials to handle the operations of the Airport line.
It has also formed a core committee of seven senior officials to handle the extreme emergency situations.
A dedicated team will also be appointed to take over the control of all important operations Control Centres of the line.
The staff currently employed by the private operator will continue to carry on their responsibilities under the supervision of DMRC team.
About 23 kilometer long metro line connects the heart of the city to the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
