The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has taken insurance cover for its passengers from one of the insurance companies listed with the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA). <br/><br/>This information was given by the Urban Development Minister, Mr. S Jaipal Reddy in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today. <br/><br/>Mr Reddy said DMRC has clarified that no pier has been strengthened by providing iron pillars. He said 59 piers have been strengthened by fattening pillars with concrete and reinforcement as an abundant precaution.<br/>
