Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has paid back over Rs. 567 crore in loan amount to the Japan International Cooperation Agency – JICA. The loan amount is for Phase-I and the interest amount for Phase-I and II. JICA, formerly known as Japan Bank for International Cooperation had sanctioned a loan of over Rs. 6400 crore for Delhi Metro's Phase-I project while for phase-II, it has sanctioned a loan amount of Rs. 9600 crore.
