DMK to fight a legal battle to bring out truth in 2G spectrum case

DMK Chief Mr. Karunanidhi has said that his party will fight a legal battle to bring out the truth in the 2G spectrum case. Speaking to news men in Chennai today, he said that the party’s lawyers will decide on whether anticipatory bail will be moved for Kalaignar TV CEO Mr. Sharad Kumar and Ms. Kanimozhi. He also denied that there was any embarrassments for the party in the issue. Asked whether Ms.Kanimozhi will appear on court on the 6th, he said that they would be cooperating.Earlier the DMK’s high level Executive Committee meeting chaired by its President Mr.Karunanidhi expressed astonishment at the inclusion of the name of Ms.Kanimozhi and Sharad Kumar. The statement released after the meeting highlighted the Sri Lankan issue and said that the alliance parties present in the UPA would impress upon the centre to ensure equal rights of Tamils living in Sri Lanka. The statement also accused the media of blowing matters out of proportion to malign the DMK and said that they were trying to break the UPA alliance and are also attempting to dethrone Mr.Karunanidhi. The meeting was attended by top DMK leaders including Kanimozhi.
