DMK rules out alliance with Congress for LS polls next year

DMK, a long time ally of the Congress, has decided that it would not align with the party in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. At its meeting yesterday, the Party's general council left it to the Chief M. Karunanidhi and Party's general Secretary Anbazhagan to decide on the alliance.

Later, Karunanidhi said that his party will go to the polls alone rather than team up with Congress. He gave a detailed account of the various instances in which his party was ignored and treated with disrespect. AIR correspondent reports that on BJP, Karunanidhi said that it was not the same as it was under the leadership of the former Prime Minister Mr. Vajpayee.
