In Tamil Nadu, Ruling DMK party MLA from Pennagaram Mr P.N. Periannan passed away today in a private hospital in Chennai after a brief illness. He was 54. Chief Minister Mr. M. Karunanidhi, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. M. K. Stalin, senior party leaders visited the hospital and paid homage. Mr. Karunanidhi expressed deep condolence to family over the M. L. A’s demise. Mr. Periaannan’s body is being taken to his native place for cremation. Meanwhile, the DMK has announced that all party related functions starting today have been cancelled for three days and party flags will fly half mast to condole his death
