In Tamil Nadu, the DMK today decided to admit the PMK into the Democratic Progressive alliance. A resolution to this effect was adopted at the high level committee meeting chaired by the party president and chief minister Mr M Karunanidhi in Chennai this evening.<br/><br/>The committee deliberated on the issue of giving a Rajya Sabha ticket to the PMK and it was decided that the new ally would be given a seat after the assembly elections due next year.<br/><br/>Mr Karunanidhi also announced the names of the three candidates to be fielded by the party to the Rajya Sabha to be held on the 17th of next month. Mr K P Ramalingam, Mr Thangavelu, and Mr T M Selvaganapathy will be the DMK candidates. Filing of nominations for the Rajya Sabha elections begins tomorrow.
