DMK, Congress members arrested for sudden road-roko released

All the DMK members and Congress members who were arrested today for the sudden road-roko were released in the evening.<br/><br/>Earlier in the day, opposition leader M.K.Stalin tried to bring to the attention of the State Assembly on publication of news reports on the sting operation by a media on horse trading during the confidence motion. Since the Assembly speaker P. Dhanapal refused an opportunity, DMK members continually resorted to sloganeering against him and against the Government. <br/><br/>Speaker referred to an earlier decision of the then Speaker during the previous Assembly session in 2011 where permission was denied on reports based on newspaper. Members were also seen displaying newspapers and slogans saying that they too are MLAs but not for sale. Since the confusion prevailed for another 45 minutes, the Speaker evicted all the DMK members from the Assembly. <br/><br/>Congress members and a lone IUML member walked out of the Assembly opposing the Speakers action. Several members belonging to the allied party of the ruling Party AIADMK have come out with statements rejecting the accusations that they have been bribed to support Edappadi Palanisamy government in the confidence motion.<br/><br/>Speaking to the media after being released, Mr.Stalin accused the State Government of inaction and slammed the Government for indulging in horse trading and illegal actions. He also told that the DMK would continue to raise the issue for discussion during Assembly.
