DMK calls for enactment of law to facilitate Jallikattu in ongoing Winter Session

The opposition DMK in Tamil Nadu has demanded enacting legislation in the ongoing session of Parliament to facilitate the traditional game of Jallikattu.<br/><br/>In a statement in Chennai, he has said the AIADMK Government has failed to put forward arguments in favour of the game. The BJP leaders keep promising positive actions on the game, though there is no tangent action on the ground to safeguard it, he has said. He wanted the state government to give pressure to the Centre to pass an act in favour of the game. <br/><br/>Former union minister and TMC leader GK Vasan has said the state has not taken a firm step to protect the game involving taming of bulls especially during Pongal festivities. He sought the Centre to make a policy decision in favour of it in such a way that it is not nullified by the judiciary.
