Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda announced Diwali bonanza for farmers of the state. The government has hiked the state advisory price of sugarcane. Announcing the major increase yesterday Mr. Hooda said that the new price for the early variety of sugarcane would be 220 rupees per quintal and for middle 215 rupees and for late varieties 210 rupees per quintal. Last year the rates were between 185 to 175 rupees per quintal. Mr. Hooda said the prices will be applicable to the cooperative sugar mills and private sugar mills had also agreed to give these prices. He also announced hike of 81.8 per cent in the rates of land situated within the notified limits of Gurgaon Municipal Corporation. The rates have been increased from adjusting 22 lakh rupees per acre to 40 lakh rupees per acre. The minimum floor rates for land situated within the notified limits of Faridabad and Panchkula corporations and areas forming parts of the government plan of Gurgaon-Manesar and Sonepat-Kundli urban complexes has been increased to 30 lakh rupees per acre from 16 lakh rupees per acre.
