The Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Thaawarchand Gehlot today said, the Divyaangs have to be brought into the mainstream to end their alienation.<br/><br/>Inaugurating a conference on 'Towards an Inclusive India for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities' in New Delhi, Mr. Gehlot said, his ministry is empowering persons with disabilities through education and training to integrate them into the society.<br/><br/>The minister highlighting the initiatives taken during the last three years said, Government has instituted scholarship for persons with disability even to pursue higher education abroad. <br/><br/>Mr. Vijay Goel, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports who also spoke at the event said, a new paralympic sports centre is being built by the government in Gandhi Nagar to encourage Divyaangs to excel in sports. <br/><br/>Mr.Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog, lauded the efforts of Divyaangs who have cleared All India Services Exams saying, it was a great leap forward in the direction of empowerment of Divyaang community.<br/><br/>The dignitaries from educational institutes, state governments and civil society throughout the country are taking part in the one day conference.
