The Cabinet has approved an amendment to the Hindu Marriage Act 1955 and Special Marriage Act 1954. Briefing reporters after the cabinet meeting, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni said that this amendment provides for divorce of a couple in case of irretrievable differences. This will have to be carried out with mutual consent and will help reduce the harassment. <br/> <br/>Mrs Soni said Cabinet also approved the setting up of a greenfield international airport in Mopa area of Goa through private participation and decided not to close down commercial operations at the existing Dabolim airport.<br/>
