In Afghanistan, a district governor was killed in eastern province of Nangarhar when a roadside bomb hit his vehicle this morning. Khorsheed, the governor of Dur Baba, was driving to work when the bomb blew up his vehicle. A police spokesman said three other people including his driver and guards were injured in the attack. He could not say, who was behind the attack, but it resembles Taliban tactics.Meanwhile, an Afghan and coalition patrol killed eight militants when the insurgents attacked the patrol with small-fire arms in the Sangin district of Helmand province yesterday. Two rockets were fired on insurgent positions and an International Security Assistance Force aircraft engaged an insurgent position with a precision-weapon.
